Get Ready for a Month of Shark Films!

National Geographic’s Sharkfest 2020 starts tonight at 8 pm EST on the National Geographic flagship channel and will feature 17 original specials for the first three weeks. It opens with World’s Biggest Tiger Shark?, a documentary that follows a journey to track Kamakai, one of the largest tiger sharks on record. Other specials include Most Wanted Sharks, Sharkcano, Sharks vs. Dolphins: Blood Battle and Shark vs. Surfer.

NatGeo Wild’s Sharkfest 2020 will begin on Sunday August 2nd on National Geographic’s sister channel, NatGeo Wild. It features two weeks of films from their massive library. A few of the titles reflect the 1970’s view of sharks but most of the films are definitely worth viewing.

Discovery Channel’s Shark Week 2020 starts August 9th and runs for eight days on the Discovery Channel. This year, Shark Week will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Air Jaws, a series of Discovery Channel films by Shark Research Institute Board Member Jeff Kurr about great white sharks in the waters near South Africa that soar above the surface chasing seals. Discovery Channel continues to work with nearly two dozen of the world’s most respected marine biologists and science institutions to bring brand-new, innovative shark research technology and compelling insights on some of the most unique shark species in the world.
