David Rowat, Ph.D., Seychelles

David is also chairman of the Marine Conservation Society, Seychelles, and initiated the Seychelles whale shark monitoring program in 1996 with the assistance of SRI-South Africa. Since then, he has collected data on hundreds of whale shark interactions, deployed both passive ID and satellite various tags on whale sharks, and submitted ID photographs of more than 50 whale sharks to the Ecocean catalogue.
