INTERPOL to hold Fisheries Enforcement Conference
The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), will hold its first International Fisheries Enforcement Conference on February 26, 2013. The conference will be followed by a meeting of the Fisheries Crime Working Group on February 27 to 28, 2013, both at the INTERPOL General Secretariat in Lyon, France.The conference brings together high-level representatives of governmental agencies in the field of fisheries, NGOs and international organizations, and designated specialists. The Conference stands to be a critical event in the global response to fisheries related crimes, and will also mark the launch of the Environmental Crime Programme's Project SCALE, a new initiative to detect, suppress and combat fisheries crime.
